Ted Eugene Nolen was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, September 7th after a long battle with sickness. Ted was born March 15th, 1952 in Fort Worth Texas. He grew up in Fort Worth graduating high school from Carter Riverside. He went on to Abilene Christian University and graduated with a Mass Communications Major in 1975. He returned to Fort Worth and met his devoted wife, Sharon. They were married on October 9th, 1982 and have shared many beautiful years together. He had several jobs through the years, but spent most of his time with Global editing airplane manuals. Setting aside his dreams of owning his own radio station, he became a stay-at-home dad to their two kids Michael and Catie to whom he passed on his love of music. He made sure he was always there to cheer on his favorite baseball star and soccer team every chance he had. His sarcasm, quick wit, and humor were a gift to the world and will be profoundly missed by those who were lucky enough to know him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Vinetta Nolen and brother Tom Nolen. He is survived by wife Sharon; son, Michael; daughter, Catie (Marshal); grandchildren, Rory and Luke; life-long friend, Jim Fulbright; Brother-in-Law, Jerry Burns and nephew, Jeff Burns as well as numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, Ted would prefer donations to be made to Christian Homes & family Services, 1202 Estates Drive, Abilene, 79602 in memory of Ted Nolen. Services will be 11:00am Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Bridgewood Church of Christ, 6516 Brentwood Stair Rd., Fort Worth 76112 and family will welcome guests 10:00 am prior to service.

I will always remember Ted being on the sidelines cheering our soccer team on. He was always there with a big smile on his face, a joke, and nothing but support for all the girls on the team. We were all family back then and I have nothing but fond memories. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. My love and prayers being sent to all of you.

I'll never forget his kindness. I once got knocked out in Jr. High and lost my frony tooth. Every time I saw him since he'd ask "Hey, how's your tooth doing?", every time. The only one to ever ask about it. If anyone ever remembers me, I hope it's for being like Ted Nolen, kind.
