Frances Dolores Brooks, age 88, passed away from natural causes at the Fort Worth home of her daughter on Thursday, July 16, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Brooks also of Laramie. Survivors include her daughter, Theresa and husband, Brooks Dickey of Fort Worth, TX; son, Paul Brooks of Belle Fourche, SD; brother, John and wife, Diane Martinez of White Mountain Lake, AZ; grand-daughter, Frances and husband, Scott Hutson of Fort Worth, TX; great-grandsons, Derick and Gunner Hutson of Fort Worth, TX; grandson, Barry and wife, Pam Dickey and their son, Lance Dickey of Mansfield, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

Loria Edmonson-Smith (59), affectionately known as Baba, of Itasca, Tx, passed away early morning Tuesday July 14th. Loria graduated from Itasca H.S. in 1978, and continued her education at Hill Junior College. She then went on to work with abused children at Odyssey Harbor. Following that she was employed as a Correctional Officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Loria was the type of women you just couldn’t help but love. Her warm smile and boisterous laugh easily lit up an entire room. She was most-loved for her kindness though. Her friends and family knew they could count on her in their lowest times. She was a strong, resilient woman with a heart of gold, who wouldn’t hesitate to give you the shirt off of her back. She is proceeded in death by parents, Helen and Warren Allen; sister, Juanita Matthews and son, Joseph Edmonson. She is survived by her 3 sons, Scotty Edmonson, Undra Smith and Devin Smith; sister, Wanda (Annette)Basye and brother, Thomas (Bubba) Allen. Her nieces, Tisha Willis, Rachelle Willis and Crystal Willis as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends. Visitation will be held at 9 am, followed by a 10 am funeral service, Thursday, July 30th at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Itasca, Tx. She will will deeply missed; May she rest well in eternal peace. James Miller, age 70, of North Richland Hills, TX passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. He was born on March 30, 1950 to Claude and Nellie Miller in Atoka, Oklahoma. He moved to the Fort Worth area at the age of 6 months and later graduated from Haltom High School. In August of 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Dana Miller. He began his career with Southwestern Bell and later worked for AT&T, Graybar, and finally retired from Commscope in August of 2018. He loved golfing, Western movies, music and books, but most of all enjoyed spending time with family and serving in church over the years wherever God led his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Nellie Miller; sister, Claudia Bennett. James leaves behind his wife, Dana Miller of North Richland Hills, along with his three children, Melissa McKellen and husband, Mark of Elgin, SC, Jamey Miller and wife, Jamie of Richmond, MI, and Jeremy Miller and wife, Shelly of Godley, TX. He was a special Papa to 6 granddaughters, Meredith, Meghan, Shaylin, Jillian, Cecily, and Natalie, and 5 grandsons, Micaiah, Lincoln, Micayden, Brady and Marshall. James will always be remembered by family and friends for his love of Texas and always helping others in need and providing for and protecting his family. A memorial service will be held at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Crowley, TX on Monday, July 20, 2020, at 10:00 am. The service will also be streamed from Rock Creek Baptist Church’s Facebook page (link provided on that page). Joseph Guy, age 55, of Itasca, Texas passed away on July 8th, 2020. He was born on June 13, 1965 to Richard Lee Guy and Annie Bell Jones Guy both of Itasca. He graduated from Itasca High School where he enjoyed weight lifting. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cynthia Guy of Hillsboro, Texas. Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory three beloved sisters, Rebecca Martinez, Odessa Williams both of Itasca, Texas and Edith Guy of Alameda, California and many loving nieces and nephews. Sammy Kaye Collins, age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 1st, 2020, in Hospice Care. He is preceded in death by parents, Joe and Bernice Collins and sister, JoAnn Prince of Leighton, Alabama. Survived by his loving wife, Johanna (Jody) Collins of Saginaw, along with sons, Matthew Collins of Saginaw and Mark Collins and wife, Chelsea of Fort Worth. Sammy was a special grandpa to two grandsons, Major and Cannon Collins of Fort Worth, he will be deeply missed. Also, survived by numerous other relatives and friends from Alabama and Texas. Sammy will forever be remembered by family and friends as an Alabama native, a loving husband, father and a journeyman electrician. A celebration of life will take place at a later date in Texas and a private family gathering will also take place at a later date in Alabama. Family and friends will be notified after date is determined. |
