Irving - Jean McConaghie, 84, entered her Heavenly home on February 23, 2019.
Visitation: Monday 2/25/19 5-7 p.m. at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 4043 W. Pioneer Dr. Irving, TX. Service: Tuesday 2/26/19 1 p.m. at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 4034 W. Pioneer Dr. Irving, TX. She was born on November 10, 1934 in to the loving home of Hilton and Nina Gilliam, accompanied by her twin sister, Jane, with whom she shared many adventures. She grew up in Brownwood Texas, where she served as a Life Guard, played tennis, and enjoyed running track. She met Don at the age of 15, fell hopelessly in love, and married at the tender age of 19. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Donna Cash and Debbie Milam. Jean loved her Lord, and worked full-time for over 50 years as the church secretary at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, played the piano, taught the children, and did whatever needed to be done to further God's glory. She was truly His hands here on earth. Don reflects on some of the humorous things that happened during their marriage. He enjoyed hunting rabbits, squirrels, rattlesnakes, and frogs. On one occasion, Jean began cooking the frog legs before Don had cut the tendons, and they began hopping! He heard her screaming, went to the kitchen, and found her recoiling from these critters, stunned and frightened by what was happening!! Her experience running track came in handy that day!! A great example of Proverbs 27:1”you know not what a day may bring forth"...…..when what you're cooking chases you out of the kitchen! She was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Rand, and her parents. Survivors: husband, Don; daughters-Donna Cash and husband, Fred, of Red Oak, and Debbie Milam and husband, Loyce, of Cleburne; grandsons-Joshua Milam and wife, Carrie, Matthew Milam and wife, Emily, Jordan Milam and wife, Hannah, Ryan Cash and wife, Alyssa, and Jared Cash; great-grandchildren-Jaydon, Neil, and Alice Milam, Haston an Hunter Cash.
