Douglas Anson (Doug) Price
Douglas Anson (Doug) Price, 83, Irving, TX. with his loving family around him, he slipped the surly bonds of Earth to touch the Face of God on Thursday, February 14, 2019.
Visitation:  Wednesday, February 20, 2019 5-7pm at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 4034 W. Pioneer Dr., Irving, TX.
Funeral Service: Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with burial to follow 2:30 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery.
He was born into a loving family January 17, 1936 to the family of Floyd and Mattie Price, in Quanah, TX.
He had three sisters who all worked hard, played hard and sang music together. He entered into the USAF January 11, 1954 and served his country well as a aircraft mechanic. He was a long time member of Northview Baptist Church and Pioneer Drive Baptist Church and served as a deacon in both churches. He loved the Lord and his church family. He served his Lord every day. He worked to raise his family as a plumber, but supplied their needs as a hunter and fisherman. They ate all kinds of different meat made to look and taste like chili along with the hoards of fish he brought home every Sunday. On one of his fishing trips he and his best friend, Perry Ellis and two other guys came home with over 150 fish, which made the Grand Prairie News.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter DaRinda and sister Donnell Price.
He was very happily married to Hersel Price at the time of his death. The Lord blessed him with sons: Douglas and Sabine Price and Robbie Sanders, daughters: Gayle and Keith Blalock, Tammie Price, Jennifer and Tim Bradwell and Pam Taylor, grandchildren: Kristi, Terrence, Joshua, Casey, Ashlee, Robert, Brittney, Codie, Callum, Jason, Jacob, Zachary, Ashley, great-grandchildren: Alexis,  Lucie, Tristan, Abby, Bentley, Samuel, Easton, Adelyn,  Raiden, Baylor, D.J., Josh, Chad, Cole and Sawyer  sisters: Yvonne Simpson and Garland Moody  and a host of other family and friends.

I was shocked to hear of Doug's departure , I am cliff Ellis and hadn't seen him in about 50 years. I was a Nam Vet and was waiting to hear my name called at the Dallas v.a . I heard this friendly guy talking and realized I recognized that voice. I asked him his name and he told me, I was shocked and I told him I was Perry Ellis's son. Right off the bat he knew who I was and he got up and came over and we hugged each other, and we both kinda teared up. Daddy and Doug went fishing all the time and worked together as plumbers. We lived on choctaw st in grand prairie and so did Doug, Alma and I think 2 kids. I was thinking about him and looked up his name in Irving and his obit showed up. Doug as I knew, him was a joy to be around . I was hoping to get a chance to tell a bunch of stories about my dad.
