Vera B. Stoddard, age 90, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, after a short illness, on Wednesday, July 21,2021, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday July 29, 2021, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 4034 W. Pioneer Dr. Irving, TX. Visitation: 9 a.m. Thursday before service. Flowers may be delivered too the church on Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Following the service, the family will meet at the family home. Vera was born May 20, 1931, in Cunningham, a small farming community in east Texas. Where she grew up, was educated, and married John Stoddard, the love of her life, in 1947. When the cotton market fell, they moved to the Dallas area in 1956. Vera had a zest for life, and a zest to shop. It made no difference if it was K-mart or Macy’s, she could move through the stores with the precession of an Olympic Marksman. She dressed in a sense of style and grace, never leaving home not looking her best, and with pearls. She was a long-time member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, Irving, TX. She Joined the Church in 2005, a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked all our Bible Schools and Halloween programs; sang in the choir and enjoyed being a part of church life when her health was good. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bertha Miller; husband, John; sisters Arlene, Ruby, Doris, and Iwanda; her brothers, Vester, Junior, Buddy and Carrel. She is survived by her children, Diane Wilcox and husband, Harold; Randy Stoddard and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Bridgette-Allen Williams and husband, Adam; Brandi Mead, Angela Allen; and sister-in-law, Faye Miller; great grandchildren, Chaz Britt, Colin Williams, and Layla Mead; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other family and friends.

Cherie Dawn Addington, age 40, went to be with the lord on July 7, 2021 in Fort Worth, TX. She is preceded in death by her father, Don Addington and her mother, Julie Addington. She is survived by her husband, Frank Peterson; her sons, Justin Salinas and wife Ali, Jaycob Salinas and Joseph Peterson; her brother, David Addington and wife Kylee; her sisters, Chelsea Hill and husband John, Christina Figueroa and husband Baldemar; her two precious granddaughters, Isabella Hyden and Makenzie Salinas; four nephews and two nieces. She will be missed by many friends and family. May she Rest In Peace. |
