 Elizabeth Juanell Hanson Elizabeth Juanell Hanson, age 82, passed away peacefully after a long term cardiac illness on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at her home of over 63 years in Haltom City, surrounded by family who loved her.
Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park of Colleyville. Juanell was born just after the Greatest Generation, but too early to be called, The Luckiest Generation. Juanell can't be described in this small forum. Even though standing 5 ft 2inches, weighing 125 lbs. with thick wavy dirty blonde hair, she appeared petite but anyone who knew her over 10 minutes soon found out she was a formidable woman. Her raspy, boisterous laugh, she could laugh as loud as a child but dress down a grown man in short order. She could be strong while being alluring, she could be intelligent but also naive. Friends & family would say she was loving & kind if you were her friend, but also very imposing if you mistreated her or a loved one. She had grown up with 3 brothers & 3 sisters, she was the 6th child of 7 children. The Hanson children spanned from the early 1920s to the late 1930s, each were two years apart. Juanell had was born in Bright Star, Arkansas, on August 1, 1934 just 5 years after the beginning of the Great Depression. She'd spent the first 16 yrs. of her rather innocent, happy, almost bucolic life, without running water or indoor plumbing. Water was hauled in by horse & buggy in barrels. That water was only for drinking or cooking. They used a small lake nearby to wash clothes. She'd been required by a strict father to work picking cotton & doing other farm chores as a young child alongside 5 older siblings & one younger sibling. The "kids" might be seen working or playing anywhere on the approximately 1000 acres. She'd tell us that if the chores were done & the cotton gin was off you might find them playing in that gin or playing & maybe fishing off the dam near their very modest house. She would say she guessed they'd been poor in those post-depression 1930s, but say she'd never been hungry, or without clean, ironed clothes. Shoes were hard to come by though. Her mama was Eunice Inez Jackson Hanson born 1904 & Daddy was Darse Hanson was born in that same year. Mama Hanson, stayed at home & kept the kids & house. She cooked, cleaned & sewed all their clothes like a professional seamstress. She taught good work ethics & manners & encouraged Juanell & siblings to go to school. Daddy Hanson, was a mechanic on the plantation & this included working on the cotton gin & any other machinery. Juanell left home to have her own family before age 16. She had her firstborn, Donny at age 16 with her husband Hodge Nugent. Donald "Donny" was an only child for over 12 years until second of her children Michael “Mike" was born. Her 3rd & last child born to her was, FRANKIE. She also aided her sister Annette in rearing her 4 children. Juanell spent over 35 years working jobs mostly mechanical in nature and was a highly skilled printing press operator. She ended up owning her own small business in Fort Worth. After surviving economic storms such as the Great Depression & later a Recession she was still able to retire by age 62, with a small home in Haltom City that she'd had the foresight to buy during the post WWII economic boom. The last 20 years of her life she actively enjoyed with great love her family. Her life held many trials & rewards. Growing up she watched friends & family live God-fearing lives, mostly Baptist. Juanell's first 77 years on earth or until about 5 years ago she learned God was not to be feared that he is a God of forgiveness & love. This gave her much peace & happiness. She is predeceased by beloved son, Donny Nugent; parents, Eunice & Darse; brothers, R.C., Leon, Bobby; sisters, Betty Jo, Imogene & Annette. Survived by daughter, Frankie Aubuchon and husband, Timothy; son, Mike Rogers; 11 grandchildren & many great grandchildren; 18 nieces & nephews to whom she was a great influence & loving relationship.  John Larry Tyson John Larry Tyson, age 67, was welcomed into eternity on Friday, June 9, 2017. He was born on July 15, 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas to Woodrow Olin Tyson and Vivian Lucretia Tyson.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at First Euless Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m. First Euless Baptist Church 1000 West Airport Freeway Euless, TX 76039 John married Donna Marie Kottmer on January 1, 1971 in California after a 3 month courtship. They welcomed their first son, Matthew Alexander Tyson, on October 13, 1972. Matthew enjoyed being an only child until June 29, 1976, when the family welcomed their first daughter, Faira Nicole Tyson (Adolphs). John enjoyed weekly trips to the movies, traveling/cruising, fishing, yard work and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger, loved larger than life and made those around him feel special, no matter the circumstance. His greatest privilege was that of being a grandfather and his favorite people called him “PawPaw” and “Poppy.” John got his first job at the young age of 11 at a little local Northside grocery store, which helped provide pocket money for him and groceries for his family. He then went on to pursue many jobs, including warehousing, store manager, janitorial services, remodeling and construction. He went on to own his own successful business in construction and always boasted that he never had to advertise because word of mouth always gained him new customers. His attention to detail and strong work ethic were always reflected in whatever job he performed. John was welcomed into eternity by those that had gone before him, including his mother, Vivian; his older brother, Woodrow; his step-father, John; his nephew, Steven; his father-in-law, Robert Kottmer and mother-in-law, Jean Kottmer. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Matthew Tyson and wife, Sarah Tyson, Faira Adolphs and husband, Wade Adolphs. He leaves behind his six grandchildren: Megan Adolphs, Kinsey Tyson, Katie Tyson, Sydnee Adolphs, Caroline Tyson and Caden Adolphs. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Binford and husband, Charles Binford and Karen Hughes and husband, Gene Hughes; cousin, Gary Salafia and numerous nieces, nephews and his faithful dog, Zoey and many good friends.
