Loria Edmonson-Smith (59), affectionately known as Baba, of Itasca, Tx, passed away early morning Tuesday July 14th.

Loria graduated from Itasca H.S. in 1978, and continued her education at Hill Junior College. She then went on to work with abused children at Odyssey Harbor. Following that she was employed as a Correctional Officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Loria was the type of women you just couldn’t help but love. Her warm smile and boisterous laugh easily lit up an entire room. She was most-loved for her kindness though. Her friends and family knew they could count on her in their lowest times. She was a strong, resilient woman with a heart of gold, who wouldn’t hesitate to give you the shirt off of her back.

She is proceeded in death by parents, Helen and Warren Allen; sister, Juanita Matthews and son, Joseph Edmonson. She is survived by her 3 sons, Scotty Edmonson, Undra Smith and Devin Smith; sister, Wanda (Annette)Basye and brother, Thomas (Bubba) Allen. Her nieces, Tisha Willis, Rachelle Willis and Crystal Willis as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at 9 am, followed by a 10 am funeral service, Thursday, July 30th at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Itasca, Tx.
She will will deeply missed; May she rest well in eternal peace.
