Maxwell Hudson Phillips, 93, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Wednesday, Oct.24, 2018.
Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth, on November 3, 2018. Maxwell was born in Manifest, Louisiana on May 12, 1925, and spent his childhood in Kelly, Louisiana. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the army, completed basic training, and was deployed to New Guinea to reassemble naval landing craft. As a career military man, Maxwell proudly served in both World War II and the Korean War and continued his career in the Air Force retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He demonstrated an innate talent for all things mechanical leading him to a second career with the FWISD. As an Adult Vocational Education Supervisor, he oversaw trade programs which benefitted many returning Vietnam veterans. In his younger years, Maxwell enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and bowling. He also enjoyed remodeling houses using his carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and a sister in Heaven. Maxwell is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren to miss his sweet, loving presence.
