Maureen Ellen Sternfels

Maureen Ellen Sternfels (75) passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 25, 2019.  She was born February 11, 1944, in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Edward and Ellen Makey French. 
       A beloved mother, sister and friend, she is preceded in death by her sister Kathy Jones and survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rene and Zac Grimaldo, sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Patrick Kelly, brother-in-law, Don Jones, sister and brother-in-law, Michele and Dan Burger, and brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Laura French, all of whom she loved deeply.
    Maureen was a graduate of Nolan High School and attended Arlington State College. She retired from banking after 40 years, during which she established lifelong relationships with coworkers and customers. Spending time with family and friends along with shopping were her greatest enjoyments.  Later in life, she learned to crochet and quilt. Considering her love to socialize, it is no wonder that she adored collecting butterflies. Meeting and helping others became her passion. She was a “mom” to staff and residents alike, at the Mansfield Medical Lodge where she lived. Her caring nature and loving spirit will be deeply missed.
