Jacqueline Ann Vernon, age 63, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Memorial Service: 2:30 pm Saturday, October 26th, at Birdville Church of Christ, 3208 Carson St., Haltom City, 76117. She was born March 20, 1956 in Tampa, Florida to Jack and Jane Layfield and grew up in Richland Hills, Texas. She graduated from Richland High School and attended Abilene Christian University. Jacqueline worked for HEB ISD for 20 years and most recently at L.D. Bell High School. Her favorite past times were spending time with her family and friends. She loved to go to the beach at any chance possible and would say, “The beach is my happy place”. Reading and serving the Lord was a passion of hers. Jacqueline is preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her loving children, Emily Jane Vernon, Mallory Ann Vernon, Mitchell Kirk Vernon, Kelly Michelle Russell and husband, Dennis; grandchild, Sydney Russell; mother, Jane Wellman Layfield; brother, Michael Stephen Layfield and wife, Tricia; and her beloved four-legged children, Quincey and Shadow.

Now she will always be in her happy place with the Lord. My prayers are for the family, working with Mallory was wonderful and she will always be my adopted daughter.

She was so loved and will be missed by many..She was a lovely lady and a loving grandmother who will be so missed by Sydney. I am so lucky to have been in Jackie's life for a few years especially when Sydney was born and we became Nana's.
