A love story 54 years in the making. Heaven has gained two of the most beautiful angels. 17 hours after his death Gary took his wife's hand and said "Linda it's time to start our eternal journey. "

Gary grew up in Peoria Illinois and graduated from Peoria High School in 1963. In 1964 he joined the US Air Force retiring in 1988. Linda and Gary were married August 23rd 1967. After retiring from the Air Force, they moved to Fort Worth in June of 1988 where he worked for the FAA. Linda grew up in Stateline Mississippi and graduated from Stateline High School in 1963. Linda was a homemaker and babysitter. She enjoyed drawing and sewing and her daughters never had a store-bought costume or birthday cake!

They were amazing parents and grandparents and will be missed beyond measure.

They are preceded in death by parents Alvin and Laverne Demmin and Locking and Thelma Lucas and great-grandson Benjamin Meredith, Linda's sister Jeanette Alexander and their brother-in-law Rox Bucklin.

They are survived by daughters Kristy Demmin(Jimmy Carter) and Casey Demmin. Grandchildren Michael (Chaney) Meredith, Scott Meredith, Clay Demmin and Rachael Demmin. Great grandchildren Kylie Meredith and Gray Meredith. Sisters Mardell Bucklin and Thelma Ruth Lucas and brother T.J. (Patsy) Lucas. Nieces and nephews Rick (Wendy)Bucklin, Brad (Kathy)Bucklin, Debbie Moss (Gary)Jones, Todd Lucas and many great nieces and nephews.

I’m so sorry for you girls but how wonderful for them to go together. They were great neighbors in LaVista! I’m just sorry we’d lost touch for so many years. 🙏🙏

We often talked about everyone hanging out on those steps and talking for hours while us kids played.Such fun memories! Thank you for your kind words.

Never have I known a more perfect pair of parents to more neighborhood kids. They were so kind and compassionate... Cared about us and let us know! I'm gonna miss you guys so much! I am thankful for these two and my condolences to all of you who remain. May you find comfort that they left this world together.
