Elida Graciela Medrano de Diaz, 75, of Fort Worth, formerly of Uvalde, died on Nov. 26, 2022, in a Fort Worth nursing facility. She was born on April 6, 1947, in Ocampo, Coahuila, Mexico, to Hilda (Ramos) and Romulo Medrano. She married Benito Diaz on March 27, 1970, in Ocampo. They were a few months shy of celebrating 51 years of marriage upon his death on Jan. 14, 2021. The couple made their home in Mexico for several months after their marriage before moving to Hugo, Oklahoma. She moved to Uvalde in 1981, residing there until June of 2020 when she moved to Fort Worth. The family said she loved singing, music, and crocheting, and they described her as a talented seamstress. She is survived by four sons, Lesley Diaz and Jacky Diaz and wife, Audrey, all of Uvalde, Andy Diaz and wife, Veronica, of Fort Worth, and Eduardo Medrano and wife, Josefa “Pepa," of Mexico; and multiple brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Donald Benito Diaz.
