John 16:33
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

On Sunday, October 14th 2018, our Mighty Lord called His son, David Wesley ‘Adrenaline’ Rush, home to Heaven at the young age of 30.  David was born on November 21st, 1987 to Tony Earl Rush and Shirley Lynne Rush in Lawrenceville, GA. When he was 14 he moved to Watauga, TX.  He was homeschooled and loved skateboarding, wrestling and music even then.  At the age of 5 years old David made the decision to ask Jesus into his heart and again in high school he rededicated his heart to HIM.  As David got older, he worked as a waiter and bartender and manager at different local restaurants like:  Bayou Jacks, Houlihans, Chili’s and On The Border. David became passionate about fitness and working out . In 2016 earned his license as a Certified Personal Trainer and began utilizing his love of fitness and his gift of encouragement to impact others and help to motivate them reach their fitness goals. His job at Mutual Muscle Gym brought him such joy to be able to make a real difference in other people’s lives.
David loved the Lord and was a member of Milestone Church in Keller, along with his longtime girlfriend, Jessika Grass, and was active in small groups. He had a huge loving heart for people and had the ability to light up any room with his amazing smile and dimples, always happy and positive. He had an awesome gift of really seeing people and sincerely connecting with everyone he met. He soaked up every opportunity to experience interactions with other people and share in their life experiences. His laughter contagiously made everyone giggle and he could eat a whole table of food by himself. The thing that most people who really knew David would remember most is… his hugs! This guy had a way of making you feel like he was so honored and overjoyed to have you be a part of his day and just wanted to show you how much he loved you with a great big hug!  David loved people like Jesus does… fully open, vulnerable, sincere, pure and true!
David is survived by his biggest blessing and greatest accomplishment in life- his daughter, Raelyn (whom he loved more than anything and lived to only be someday worthy of her); his parents:  Tony Rush of Watauga and Shirley Rush of North Richland Hills; his Aunt Eulala Echols and Uncle Bobby Echols of Vernon; his Aunt Angela Wilson-Rush of North Richland Hills; and all of his cousins.

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 19th 2018 at Abundant Life Family Church, 6800 Hwy 377, Watauga, TX at 2:00 pm followed by a graveside service at Mount Olivet in Fort Worth, TX.
There have been a couple of funds established in David’s memory:
  • GOFUNDME.COM – “Remembering Our Friend David Rush” organized by one of his best friends, Brian O’Leary. Funds will be used to help with funeral and final expenses.
  • MEALTRAIN.COM – “Donations for The Rush Family” organized by Chase Harris of Mutual Muscle Gym, his friend and employer, and Chase’s wife Carly. Funds will be used to help with upcoming meals for the Rush family members as they get through this time of grieving and healing.
Thanks to all who have shared your heartwarming stories of how David impacted your lives and the wonderful things you have said about our loving David.  There are not words to express the gratitude we, the family, have for those of you who shared your love, shared our grief and contributed to the memorial funds ….You have helped more than you will know to heal the overwhelming hole left in our hearts that David filled with his sweet spirit!

“I will one day stand atop this hole I am slowly digging myself out of, then I will look down at the pit with pride, and after that I will look up into the sky realizing that my potential to keep rising is limitless. Always keep pushing yourself… in everything!” – David Rush

Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Joshua 1:9-11  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Psalm 27:1   The LORD is my light and my salvation;    whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life;  of whom shall I be afraid?

Deuteronomy 31:6  Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

1 Peter 4:11
If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Psalm 121 1-2
I lift up mine eyes to the hills- from whence cometh my help…My help cometh from the Lorde, the Maker of Heaven and earth.

I met David a little over a year ago. Since that time we first met David was always such a passionate, intelligent and caring friend. There are verry few people who are as genuine and honorable as he was... he will be deeply missed.
