The Journey of  David E. Williams

Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 4034 W. Pioneer Drive, Irving, Texas 75061.  

​His Birth...
David Williams was born on October 21, 1961 at Walson Army Hospital in Fort Dix, New Jersey to the late Mr. Uvern Williams and the late Mrs. Erma Lee Williams.

His Devotion...
As a child David grew up with a strong Christian background.  He was saved and baptized at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, Mississippi in 1973 during the pastorship of Reverend L. J. Young and remained a steadfast member until relocating with his family to Irving, TX where he joined the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Joe Raper.

His Life...
David attended St. Francis Elementary School in Greenwood, Mississippi and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1979.  He studied Computer Technology at Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead, Mississippi.  David began his career at Ferguson Machine, Inc. in Greenwood as a machinist until he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a brief period. Upon his return to Greenwood, he became employed with the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital in the IT Department as a Computer Technician.  A few years later, David again relocated with his family, a lovely wife and four beautiful children to Irving, Texas where he worked at Allstate Insurance Agency for a brief time before continuing his career at Baylor Medical Center at Irving as a Computer Technician and later climbing the corporate ladder to become Senior Computer Technology Consultant at Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano, Texas.

David was a loving and caring father to each of his four children, Erich, Jennifer, Michael and Antonio and a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Shirley for 29 blissful years.  He was attentive and a tower of strength, courage and determination to his family.

David's kind, gentle, quiet and harmonious spirit made him the joy of all who came in contact with him; family, friends as well as those just passing by his way.  David possessed a phenomenal memory and his greetings, and conversations were sure to always make you smile.

Those That Mourn...
David leaves to forever cherish his memories, a devoted wife, Shirley Williams, one daughter, Jennifer Denise (Mario) Polk, three sons, Erich David (Stormy) Williams, Michael Andrea Williams and Antonio Glen Williams all of Irving, TX; two sisters Dr. Blanche W. (Dr. Lorenzo) Wesley of Milestone, MS and Yvonne W. Clark of Greenwood, MS;  five brothers, Curtis L. (Beverly) Wright, Jr. of Randallstown, MD, Lawrence E. (Linda) Williams of Greenwood, MS, Glenn A. (Narciss) Williams of Milwaukee, WI, Jason (Takesha) McMiller of Alexandria, VA and Michael Cooper of Greenwood, MS; one father and mother-in-law Willie "Pig" and Lillie "Bell" Tucker of Tchula, MS; one sister-in-law Tressy (RJ) Stowers of Elkhart, IN; seven brother-in-laws, Milton "Ben" Adams of Lexington, MS, Glenn Tucker of Dallas, TX, Charles (Tomeka) Tucker of Elkhart, IN, Louis Clark, Cleon Tucker, Simmie Tucker and Derrick Tucker all of Tchula, MS; ten grand children, Colby C. Jones, Kennidi N. Williams, Camryn D. K. Williams, Kaden C. Bess, Cage D. Williams, KaMiya K. Polk, Jaylen M. Polk, Sir Karter Williams, Major Kendall Williams and Princess Cherish Williams; two uncles, Reverend Samuel (Carolyn) Williams of Madison, MS and Chester (Sallie) of Olive Branch, MS; one aunt Jimmie Neal "Baby Sister" Banks of Tchula, MS; one stepmother, Mrs. Lucille Cooper Williams of Greenwood, MS; twenty-nine nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends, colleagues, co-workers  .

His Death...
David passed from this life at 1:20 p.m. at Baylor Heart Hospital Plano in Plano, TX on April 22, 2016.  David was preceded in death by his parents.  His memories live on in our hearts.  Rest in Heaven David, our husband, father, brother, pawpaw, uncle, cousin, co-worker and dear friend...
