​​Coy Phillips Brummett, age 50, passed away peacefully in his sleep, April 7, 2020.
He was born February 07, 1970 in Lubbock, Texas, to mother, Jane Nobles and father, Winston Brummett Jr; Step-dad David Nobles.  Coy dedicated his life to serve in our military. He was a Disabled Veteran of the U.S. Army and Customs & Border Protection. A member of the VFW and enjoyed motorcycle riding, tattooing, designing art pieces and creating beautiful drawings.  He will be laid to rest Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

​Coy recently passed away in his sleep. He was found in his bed with his ever vigilant service dog, Monsta, protecting him.  To all of you, that were lucky to have known him, we are sorry for your loss.  To all of you, that never had the pleasure to know him, we are sorry for your loss.  Coy was a proud Texan.  He was bigger than life and lived his life the way he wanted; with his hand on the throttle going as fast as he could and blazing his own path.  Coy had the biggest heart and never met a stranger.  He always helped anyone no matter the time of day or the distance.  He went to college for architecture and soon realized that college was not for him.  He joined the United States Army, in 1991 and was Military Police, stationed at Schofield Barracks in O'hau, Hawaii.  In 1993, he was then stationed at Fort Hood Military Base, Killeen, Texas and served in the 545th Military Police Company, 1st Calvary Division; where is was awarded the Southwest Asia Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star.  In 1996, he became a Customs Inspector at DFW International Airport where he excelled and taught defensive tactics and firearms.  Coy was also very artistic and loved to draw and create.  He also built two choppers one of which he rode daily.  He loved to feel the wind on his bald head, he said it was his therapy.  He was volunteer Fire Fighter for the City of Justin Fire Department.  During the last 10 years he was diagnosed with PTSD and was awarded 100% disability permanently.  He left behind his soulmate of 25 years, Tanya, his step-daughter Desiree Clark (31), his step-son Nicholas Clark (27), his son David Brummett (26), his daughter Chase "Alleycat" Brummett (23); a granddaughter Serenity Clark (9) and grandson Gavin (4), his mother Carla Nobles, his step-father David Nobles, one niece Taylor Thomas, two nephews Stone Thomas and August Garcia, his brother Kevin Fine, his sister Heather Nobles, his brother-in-law Ernest Garcia and Mother-in-law Joyce Boydston.  He is proceeded in death by his Father Winston Brummett, Jr.  

Due to the restrictions of COVID-19 we are unable to have anyone attend his funeral and burial, except 10 people which will consist of his immediate family.  Once the COVID-19 restrictions are over his family will be having a memorial at DFW National Cemetery, with full military honors.
