Robert Jessie Salazar, 55, a cherished husband, devoted father, and proud new grandfather, was also a beloved brother and friend, as well as an adoptive father to countless individuals of all ages and a multitude of rescue animals. He passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family and friends.  Born in the vibrant city of Dallas, TX, on January 20, 1970, he was the cherished son of his late parents, Samuel Ray Salazar Sr. and Margarita Reyna Salazar.

September 11th is a date imprinted in our memories, a day when the world seemed to come to a standstill. Robert epitomized kindness and generosity, with a heart that overflowed with love and a radiant spirit that brought laughter to those around him. His unwavering devotion to his family shone like a guiding star, illuminating their lives with warmth and joy. Robert had a passion for grilling, often gathering his loved ones around a smoky barbecue, regardless of the weather, because for him, it was not just about the food but the joy of shared moments and cherished conversations. He was always eager to lend a helping hand, providing support in any way he could, whether for family, friends, or the many animals that found their way into his heart. A masterful handyman, Robert possessed the uncanny ability to fix almost anything, earning him the affectionate title of "Robert of all trades." An original gamer at heart, he lived life to the fullest, never running out of lives but instead embarking on a new adventure as he respawns in eternal paradise, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Ray Salazar Sr. and Margarita Reyna Salazar; brothers, Gilbert Salazar and Samuel Ray Salazar Jr.

Robert is Survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann; sons, Robert (Kaylind), Patrick and Javan; daughters, Taylor Thornton and Jasmine; grandson, Archer; his siblings, Sylvia Rico, Elizabeth, Mary, and Hector.

A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00pm at Bethel Family Worship Center, 946 W Pipeline Rd., Hurst, Tx 76053 with Pastor, Eliud Jimenez officiating.  If you would like to express your love and send flowers for the service, please have them delivered directly to the church on the day of the service.

I’m extremely heartbroken to hear of my dear friends passing. Robert and I went back all the way to James B. Bonham Elementary school and his mom and my mom were great friends. I just spoke with him at his mother’s funeral and he looked as strong as ever but then we just never know what life has prepared for us. Robert goes home to his mother, father and brothers and one day soon we will see each other again. Robert I will leave you with “Jim Davis”, he knows what I meant with this.
