Veliazar "Velia" Santana Valadez

​Veliazar “Velia” Santana Valadez, 71, was born on March 4, 1954, at Municipio de San Buena Ventura, Coahuila, Mexico. She was proud of becoming an American Citizen and lived most of her life in Fort Worth, Texas. She went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

Velia was self-sacrificing, loving, caring, kind, and was loved by everyone who knew her. She was always giving to others, even putting others before herself. Velia served her church ever since her early years with her cooking, cleaning, driving many who needed transportation, and offering prayers even in her late years. She was a wonderful woman of God and will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind her adoring husband, Gary Valadez; daughters, Claudette Portales and husband, Sergio, Cristina Alvarado and husband, Joseph; 5 grandchildren, Nathaniel Portales, Victorio Portales, Solomon Portales, Shiloh Alvarado, and Hannah Alvarado; siblings, Hilda Santana Figueroa, Rebecca Santana Diaz, Maria Magdalena Santana Garza and Sara Santana Flores.

Velia was proceeded in death by her parents, Josefa Garcia Santana and Jose Santana Martinez; siblings, Virginia Santana, Pedro Santana, Romeo Santana, Elias Santana, Luz Angelica Santana Aguillon and Daniel Santana.

​Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11:00am with visitation to begin prior at 10:00am at Refuge Church, 2101 N Riverside Dr., Fort Worth, Tx 76111. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth.
