Petra Rangel Olvera (Betty)

​With deep love and lasting respect, we remember Petra Rangel Olvera, known as Betty, who went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2025, at the age of 97.

Betty was a woman of strength, warmth, and determination - strong, stubborn, and loving all in one. She lived a full life surrounded by family, friends, and the things that brought her joy. ​She was known for her quilts which were full of beautiful patterns. She loved working and browsing at the flea markets, finding treasures and sharing laughs. As the years passed, she enjoyed working on puzzles or crafting her handmade confetti eggs each year. Betty also had a green thumb and a gentle touch for growing and nurturing her plants.
 
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who know her, we will meet her again. May she rest easy with Jehovah Our God.
 
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Pedro Olvera; daughter, Gloria Van Putten; sons, Albert R. Olvera and Pete R. Olvera and grandson, Victor Olvera.

Survived by her sons, Lucio R. Olvera & wife, Cynthia from Houston, David R. Olvera & wife, Christina from Houston; daughters, Stella R. Olvera & husband, Jamie Cortez from Waco & Martina O. Banda & husband, Frank from Fort Worth. 

Her surviving siblings, Janie Rangel from Belton, Santos R. Garza from Waco, Ramona Rangel from Waco & Manuel C. Rangel from Fort Worth.

She has 24 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren & 8 great great grandchildren. Many nephews, nieces & friends who she also truly loved.

​Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Teaching Word Faith Center, 7712 South Freeway, Fort Worth, TX 76134 with pastor, Joe Z. Barrera officiating.  Betty loved flowers, if you would like to show your love and support with having a flower arrangement ordered for her service, please have the order delivered directly to the church for her service.
