![]() Gary Kendrick Whitworth passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025, at seventy years old. Gary was born March 8, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas to Larry K. Whitworth and Giulia Paronesso. Gary loved music, having played the trombone, and drawing. Gary was a natural artist, whether it was drawing cars, or making drawings for cards as gifts to his family and friends, or the many helicopter drawings he did in honor of his father who retired from Bell Helicopter. Gary lived with his mother caring for her until her death at the age of 94. Gary was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of four years old. He had many fond memories of Dr. Shirley Sweeney, an endocrinologist from Dallas and spending time at Camp Sweeney that was opened as a residential camp for children with diabetes in 1950. He was one of the kindest individuals, always with a pleasant disposition and expressed his gratitude. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Whitworth. Survivors: sister, Marian Lea and husband, Harold and their daughters, Jemila Lea, Amina Lea and Jessica Lea; brother, Tony Whitworth and his daughter, Jamie Dulock and sons, John and Ryan Whitworth. Along with a host of great nieces and nephews. The family also acknowledges the many loved ones that Gary leaves behind in the friends he made of the residents and staff members of Ashwood Court who gave him such great friendship and care over the many years he resided with them. Graveside Service will take place at 10:00am Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas.
